Rafting on the Gauley River in the Fall is a great way to experience world class whitewater! You can choose between two great experiences - Adventure Class or World Class. On selected days in September and October, scheduled releases from the Summersville Dam turn the river into an astounding experience! The Upper Gauley section is one unrelenting Class V section after another, and the Lower Gauley is a spectacular whitewater dream. Sweet's Falls Rapids is the last of the "big five" rapids on the Upper Gauley. There is a spectacular view of the rapids from the right shore, and Appalachian Wildwaters has exclusive use of that beautiful lunch spot on the sunny side of the river.
